Description:    VIN: 1G1YY6782G5901175 Description: The 1986 Corvette was the beginning of the convertibles again after not being made for 10 years. Open air motoring carried a significant price increase however. The convertible was a $5,000 premium over the coupe and cracked the $30,000 price range. With a huge jump in performance and technology via the C4 introduction, the Corvette maintained its lead as the premier performance car bargain and increased sales. This 24 year old vehicle as of April 14, 2010 has 27,xxx documented original miles. This Convertible includes the following: · 2D premium sports car with 5.7L V8 TBI engine - 4 speed auto transmission with overdrive and heavy duty radiator. · Year of new roller valve lifters – upping the engine output to 235 HP with 330 torque ft. LBS. New Z52 sport handling package offered better control and provided a less harsh ride than the Z51 performance package. · Options include: driver seat controls, electronic A/C, performance axle ratio, engine oil cooler, radiator boost fan, leather sport seats, power door locks, remote heated mirrors (this was built on convertibles only), cruise control, California emission requirement, Delco Bose stereo system, sport handling package Z52, digital instrumentation, tilt and telescoping steering wheel. 1986 saw the introduction of ABS on all Corvettes and like the fuel injection system, it was Bosch sourced. Redesigned custom dash, interior and new carpet in black. Just tuned-up with new plugs and wires. History: Total production of this vehicle was 35,109 (27,794 coupes and only 7,315 convertibles). In 1986 Corvette was chosen to pace the Indianapolis 500 and all 1986 Corvette convertibles received pace car replica status. As with the first 1978 Indy 500 pace car replica, decals commemorating the event are on the side of the car. This vehicle is a 2 owner car. It was purchased originally in 1986 from Chicago Raceway.
