Description:    This extremely rare 1954 Pontiac Starchief Convertible was purchased from a gentleman in Upstate New York. It was purchased originally by a couple who put nearly all of the 90,000 miles on it. Upon their death the car was placed in storage and sat for over 20 years. It was given to a wealthy grandson who did not want the car. He brought the car to an electrical mechanic to get it converted to a 12 bolt system. The heir then moved to Florida and told the electrician to sell the car. It was originally listed as a 1952 Chieftain! Records regarding this beautiful car were destroyed in a massive fire in the Pontiac Factory. Records have been researched and the best guess as to how many remain on the road today varies from 20 to 200. The car had a $55,000.00 body off restoration performed by one of Mr. Bill Harrah's top restoration specialists; Mr. Everett Adams, in Reno Nevada. This car is all restored back to its original glory, original motor, a phenomenal piece of forgotten automotive history. It is considered one of the longest convertibles ever created. Actual miles! Matching numbers! FUN FACTS: Original asking price was $2301.00. Last year of the 14 MPG straight 8 motor. 213.7 inch length, 124 inch wheelbase. Unique multi-speed Hydra-Matic transmission. Nearly 2 tons, 0-60 MPH in 17.4 seconds, whopping 127 HP. Top Speed 93 MPH!
