My family is the original owner of this 280 SE convertible Mercedes. This car was ordered and personally picked up in Germany at a private unveiling. The car was presented in an auditorium with the parting of red velvet curtains and the congratulations of the Mercedes Benz executives. This 1971 Mercedes Benz 280 SE convertible 3.5 liter was the only year powered by a V8 engine making this an extremely rare car as there were only 3,000 produced. The low mileage of this car averages less than 2,000 miles per year in the 39 plus years that we've owned it.
